Swiatek to face Sabalenka again in Stuttgart final after Jabeur retires

Berlin, April 22 (BNA): World No. 1 Iga Swiatek moved to the final of the Stuttgart Open today, Saturday, after her opponent, Anas Jaber, was injured in three matches in the first set.

Australian Open winner Sabalenka needed just 58 minutes to reach her third consecutive Stuttgart final with a 6-1 6-2 victory over Potapova.

Sabalenka, who lost last year to Swatek, led 4-0, breaking her opponent twice, reports Reuters.

World number 24 Potapova played catch-up the whole time and was woefully weak on her weak second serve.

She was equally helpless in the second set with Sabalenka breaking early again as she won the first eight points.

The world number two then came back from 30-0 down with a series of powerful serves at 5-2 to wrap up the match and reach her fourth final of the year.
