Suspect arrested in Serbia’s second mass shooting in 2 days

Belgrade, May 5 (BNA): Serbian state television reported early Friday that police have arrested a man suspected of killing at least eight people and wounding 13 others in the second mass killing in the Balkan country in two days.

The report said the man, identified by his initials UB, was arrested near the town of Kragujevac in central Serbia, about 100 kilometers (60 miles) south of Belgrade, the Associated Press reports.

News of the arrest followed an overnight search by hundreds of policemen, who sealed off the area south of Belgrade where the shooting took place late Thursday.

The attacker shot randomly at people in a drive-by attack in three Serbian villages late Thursday.

Hundreds of police were searching for a 21-year-old suspect who fled after the attack, RTS reported early Friday.
