Supreme Council for Women signs agreement with Woodrow Wilson Center

Manama, November 15 (BNA) The Supreme Council for Women today signed a work agreement with the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars based in Washington.

Under the agreement, the two sides will exchange experiences and studies and hold specialized seminars related to women.

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women, Hala Al-Ansari, said that the two parties to the agreement will hold a series of discussions to shed light on the issues of Bahraini women and the countries of the region within the articles, blogs and publications of the Centre.

The two sides will also cooperate in implementing the second part of the research project on “Leadership: Women in the Middle East and North Africa”, which is one of the center’s most prominent publications aimed at diagnosing and analyzing the reality of women’s empowerment. within the geographical scope of the report.

Based on this agreement, Bahrain will provide the center with information and data to prepare a case study on an aspect of women’s empowerment in the Kingdom, as part of the comparisons made in the report to countries in the Middle East and North Africa.

The deal will also provide an opportunity to exchange qualitative practices in the field of making comparisons, relying on more realistic scientific methodologies to measure women’s progress, with regard to indicators of development and economic competitiveness.

Al-Ansari expressed her hope that this agreement will be the beginning of a fruitful and long-term relationship with the Wilson International Center for Scholars.

Ambassador Mark Green, CEO of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, said that the agreement with the Supreme Council for Women will help the center get a deep insight into Bahrain’s approach to the advancement of women, describing this experience as progress in the Middle East.
