Manama, Apr. 19 (BNA): Parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam praised the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to follow up on housing projects.
He praised the efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to improve services and meet the needs of citizens.
He renewed Parliament’s commitment to support all projects and programs undertaken by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning.
The Speaker’s statements came during his participation today in chairing a joint meeting with the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Amna bint Ahmed Al-Rumaihi, in the presence of deputies representing the Southern Governorate and other officials.
He praised the minister’s efforts and cooperation, indicating that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has so far held four meetings with deputies representing, respectively, the Muharraq Governorate, the Capital Governorate, the Northern Governorate and the Southern Governorate to follow up on the progress of projects.
In his speech to the meeting, Al-Rumaihi stressed the importance of cooperation between the executive and legislative authorities to serve citizens under the leadership of His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
She renewed the ministry’s keenness to provide services by adopting a three-pronged strategy aimed at providing decent housing for families with limited incomes.
She explained, “The strategy includes housing financing programs, and the government-owned land development rights program, in addition to completing the construction and development of residential cities.”
She highlighted the ministry’s cooperation with other government agencies to provide public services and utilities, commercial, educational, health and worship facilities in residential cities.
The meeting was attended by members of Parliament Badr Saleh Al-Tamimi, Abdullah Khalifa Al-Rumaihi, Dr. Ali Majid Al-Nuaimi, Lulwa Ali Al-Rumaihi, Muhammad Muhammad Al-Rifai, Muhammad Musa Muhammad, Muhammad Yusuf Al-Maarafi, and Maryam Saleh Al-Daen. Najeeb Hamad Al-Kuwari.
The meeting was also attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Asim Abdul Latif, the General Manager of the Housing Bank, Dr. Khalifa Abdullah, the Assistant Undersecretary for Engineering Affairs, Balsam Al Salman, the Assistant Undersecretary for Housing Services, Fatima Al Mannai, the Director of Projects Follow-up, Muhammad Rashdan, and the Director of Communications, Haitham Kamal.
