Manama, May 3 (BNA): Parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam praised the royal speech delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of world press freedom, which is celebrated annually on May 3.


He expressed his pride in the royal message that values ​​constructive cooperation between the executive and legislative branches of governments to develop legislative tools that support freedom of expression and enhance the role of the press.


He praised the efforts made by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to enhance cooperation and support the national press to play its vital role in serving the nation.


The Speaker of the House of Representatives indicated that His Majesty the King’s speech reflects the royal’s unwavering support for the press and media and a firm belief in their role in building the nation, in a democratic atmosphere and an advanced constitutional and legal system that guarantees independent and responsible freedom of opinion and expression.
