Manama, Jan. 26 (BNA): Parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam praised the inauguration of the Bahrain Declaration in Europe, during a ceremony held today in the Italian capital, Rome.
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa praised the royal vision to promote human and peaceful coexistence and the principles of tolerance and dialogue between cultures and civilizations, which represent the basic pillars of Bahraini society.
He said that the inauguration of the covenant comes from global humanitarian initiatives in light of the comprehensive development led by His Majesty the King, describing the declaration as the Kingdom’s message to the world and humanity.
He highlighted the global appreciation of Bahrain’s initiatives, citing the statement of His Holiness Pope Francis during his historic visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain last November.
The Speaker of Parliament praised the efforts of the government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in supporting the international trend to promote the values of coexistence and peace.
He said that His Majesty the King strengthened Bahrain’s position in the world by launching the Kingdom’s Declaration and establishing the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence.
He also referred to the launch of His Majesty King Hamad’s Program for Interfaith Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence at the Italian Sapienza University in Rome, and the establishment of the King Hamad International Prize for Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence.
He highlighted other global humanitarian initiatives that reflect His Majesty the King’s keenness to highlight Bahrain’s endeavor to promote Bahrain as a beacon of peaceful coexistence.
