Manama, May. 7 / BNA / The Shura Council expressed its pride in the excellent efficiency of the local press on the Bahraini Press Day, which falls on the seventh of May.
She emphasized the competencies and experiences of the Bahraini press, which contributed to highlighting the national achievements that the Kingdom witnessed during the reign of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The Shura Council indicated that His Majesty the King paid special attention to the role of the press and media in achieving prosperity in the Kingdom, stressing its right to circulate news, express constructive opinions, and transmit reliable information and data, through His Majesty’s support for the principles of freedom of expression.
The Shura Council praised the support of the government, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and its keenness to encourage journalists and media professionals in all media outlets in Bahrain to perform their role honestly and responsibly.
