Manama, Feb. 27 (BNA): Speaker of the Shura Council, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, met with the newly appointed Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Bahrain, Rithsri Wegertney Mendez.
The Chairman of the Board affirmed that the thriving Bahraini-Sri Lankan relations, and the growing areas of cooperation and coordination, reflect the keenness of the two countries to advance work for the benefit of the two countries and their peoples.
He praised the close historical bilateral relations, stressing the interest and keenness of the Shura Council to strengthen parliamentary relations with Sri Lanka, and exchange visions on issues and topics discussed in parliamentary forums.
The ambassador affirmed that the two countries have common areas of interest to work on together, such as trade exchange, and promotion of tourism and investment.
