Sell-out crowd witnesses a weekend of spectacular racing and entertainment at the Bahrain Grand Prix

Manama, March 5 (BNA): The Bahrain International Circuit, the “Home of Motorsport in the Middle East,” today announced record sales for the final day of the 2023 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

The 36,000 spectators who witnessed another great race under the lights at Sakhir was the highest one-day attendance in the race’s 19-year history, with 99,500 people attending over the weekend.

Commenting on the conclusion of the 2023 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, Arif Rahimi, President of the Bahrain International Circuit, said:

“I congratulate Max Verstappen on his first ever victory in Bahrain, what was an amazing race under the leadership of Nujoom Sakhir.

“Our sale – our crowd over the weekend reflects the incredible popularity of Formula 1 around the world. What is particularly encouraging is that we are attracting more fans than ever before from overseas and also bringing a new generation into the sport. Furthermore, the passion of Bahraini fans is strong As I’ve ever seen him.

“The success of our racing would not be possible without the support of so many. I offer a special thanks to Formula 1 and the FIA ​​for all they do for the sport. I also thank the teams, the Bahrain Motor Federation, the marshals and all those who have supported us in providing the F1 spectacle.”
