Second group of Bahrainis back home from quake-hit Turkey

Manama, Feb. 12 (BNA): A second group of citizens returned to the Kingdom of Bahrain from the cities of Urfa and Hatta in the Republic of Turkey.


Bahrain’s embassy in Ankara intervened to bring them home in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck the southeastern region of Turkey.


The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Ankara, Dr. Ibrahim Yousef Al-Abdullah, praised His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, praising the royal directives to send humanitarian aid to the earthquake victims in the Turkish Republic and the Syrian Arab Republic. .


He also praised the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the follow-up on the affairs of Bahrainis abroad.


Dr. Al-Abdullah also praised the pivotal role of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, led by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs.


He affirmed the embassy’s commitment to facilitating procedures for the return of Bahraini citizens to their homes in the wake of the natural disaster that struck Turkey.


He expressed his thanks and gratitude to all relevant official authorities in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Turkey for their cooperation in enabling Bahrainis to return safely to their homes.
