SEA, Alba sign MoU

Manama, November 9 (BNA) The President of the Sustainable Energy Authority, Dr. Abdul-Hussein bin Ali Mirza, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aluminum Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) Sheikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa during a virtual ceremony.

The MoU aims to enhance cooperation in the field of clean energy and carbon emission reduction projects and encourage investment in solar energy projects.

Dr. Mirza expressed his appreciation for Alba’s achievements in the past year, which contributed to the advancement of the Kingdom’s economy, praising the company’s recent initiative to establish a solar park.

The Chairman of the Atomic Energy Authority stressed the authority’s keenness to support various public and private sectors to benefit from renewable energy applications, projects, technologies and solutions to improve energy efficiency in line with the national goal of zero carbon by 2060.

The Chairman of Alba’s Board of Directors expressed his gratitude for the partnership with the Mediterranean Authority in accordance with the outcomes of the United Nations Climate Change Conference in which Bahrain participated, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Sheikh Duaij said: “The Alba Solar Park (with a capacity of more than 5 megawatts) is one of the company’s important strategic initiatives, which aims to enhance the environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects to create sustainable values ​​across Bahrain.”
