Manama, October 20 (BNA) The Vice President of the Supreme Council for Women, Dr. Sheikha Mariam bint Hassan Al Khalifa, received today Laila Bakr, the Regional Director for Arab States at the United Nations Development Coordination Office.
She stressed the keenness of the Supreme Council for Women to enhance cooperation with the District Coordination Office by activating the memorandum of understanding with the United Nations Women’s Office in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Regional Office for Arab States in Cairo. She pointed to the importance of continuous cooperation in various developmental areas related to women’s empowerment.
Dr. Sheikha Mariam highlighted the role of the Supreme Council for Women as an advisory body in the field of women’s empowerment for all national parties. She referred to the Kingdom’s celebration this year of the twentieth anniversary of the Supreme Council for Women and its achievements in the field of women’s advancement.
