Manama, May 25 (BNA): A quantity of American-made JIF peanut butter products suspected of being contaminated with salmonella, based on the high temperature of the Food and Drug Administration, was seized.
The Ministry of Health said that food control inspectors confiscated the suspicious products during an intense inspection campaign in markets and supermarkets.
It turns out that a small amount of JIF peanut butter was imported, according to the serial number specified in the International System of Hazards and Warnings, whose operational numbers range from 1274425 to 2140425.
The Ministry affirmed its keenness to take the necessary measures to enhance health and safety, and to follow all health and preventive measures in this regard, to ensure that food commodities conform to international standard specifications, quality and safety standards.
Consumers with such products bearing the above brand and batch number indicated in the warning are urged to return them to dealers and retail stores.
