Role of youth in sustainable development highlighted

Manama, Feb. 28 (BNA): The young generation has a major role to play in promoting sustainable development in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

This came during the general youth discussion session hosted today by the Ministry of Sustainable Development.

The results of the session will be included in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s second national voluntary periodic review on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The report will be presented during the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in New York City in July under the theme “Accelerating Recovery from the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic and Full Implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.”

The session referred to the continued support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the commitment of the government, headed by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, to elevate Bahraini youth to be partners in national development.

The session also highlighted the role of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for humanitarian work and youth affairs, in harnessing all efforts to invest in the potential of youth and providing all training opportunities.
