Plans to develop school sports discussed

Manama, October 26 (BNA): The development of sports in schools was the focus of a webinar, held by the Ministry of Education and the General Sports Authority (GSA).

The meeting came at the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the Public Sports Authority and Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.

The webinar was attended by the Director General of Schools Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Mubarak bin Ahmed, the CEO of the Public Authority for Public Sports, Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, the Undersecretary Nawal Ibrahim Al-Khater, the Assistant Undersecretary for Sports Services Kefaya Habib Al-Anzour, and the Bahrain Wrestling Federation Ibadah Al-Mulla. and other officials.

The two sides discussed the school sports project and plans to include wrestling within the educational curricula, in addition to the media plan and community partnership.

They also reviewed plans to diversify sports and promote mind games as part of school curricula and activities. They agreed to hold meetings to discuss development plans.
