Manama, May 25 (BNA): Member of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee at the Representatives Council, MP Mahmood Makki Al-Bahrani, has stressed the importance of enhancing the Bahraini-Indonesian relations at the political, economic and social levels, in light of the steady progress of these ties thanks to the sound visions and directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
MP Al-Bahraini commended the efforts exerted by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to expand fields of economic, trade and investment cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries, particularly Indonesia.
He made the statements during a meeting between the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee and an Indonesian parliamentary delegation, led by Deputy Speaker, Nono Sampono, currently on a visit to the kingdom.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries in all fields, especially at the parliament level, in order to further strengthen the solid relations between the two countries and their friendly peoples.
MP Al-Bahrani said the meeting highlighted the mechanism adopted by the Council of Representatives to discuss the general state budget, leading to achieving economic and social successes and gains for the citizens, as well as supporting goods and services delivered to the citizens.
The Indonesian delegation was briefed about the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee’s method in discussing and studying the general state budget, including the ability to amend it, in accordance with the constitution and the parliament laws in force.
The Indonesian parliamentary delegation extended sincere thanks to the kingdom’s leadership, government, people and parliament, stressing the importance of boosting bilateral economic relations by broadening bilateral economic cooperation, increasing the volume of joint investments and holding economic events.
It is also stressed the need to remove all obstacles from investors from both countries.
The delegation praised the existing facilities provided for Indonesian investors, and hailed numerous investment opportunities available in the kingdom, describing Bahrain as an oasis of investment in the Arabian Gulf region.
It also called for availing of the multiple investment opportunities offered by the two countries to increase the volume of bilateral trade exchange.
