Osimhen and Kvara earn their mural spots alongside Maradona

Rome, May 5 (BNA): Victor Osimhen and Khvisha Kvaratskhelia have their murals on the walls of Naples alongside Diego Maradona.

More than three decades after Maradona led Napoli to their first two Serie A titles, Ossi and Kafara have been the biggest reasons behind the team’s runaway success this season.

So it seemed fitting that both players were involved in the decisive goal as Napoli wrapped up their “scudetto” (the championship) with a 1-1 draw with Udinese on Thursday, reports the Associated Press.

Osimhen hit the rebound after a shot from Kvaratskhelia equalized the second half.

It was Osimhen’s 22nd league goal of the season, while “Kafara” was the assists leader in the league with 10 to match the 12 goals scored by the Georgia international.

Even before the title was sealed, the Osimhen-Kvara fresco was placed in the Forcella neighborhood, known for its frescoed walls of San Gennaro, the city’s patron saint.

While the mural will likely remain in place, it remains to be seen if Osimhen will stay with Napoli after admitting he would like to play in the Premier League one day.

Osimhen is 24 and Kafara is 22, so it is likely that the couple will play together for many more years.

Another key element in Napoli’s success whose future remains uncertain is coach Luciano Spalletti, who is awaiting a contract extension.

At the age of 68, Spalletti became the oldest coach to win Serie A – his first title.
