London, May 8 (BNA) Arsenal’s five-season Champions League ban came to a close after Eddie Nketia’s 2-1 win over Leeds cemented the team’s hold on fourth place in the Premier League on Sunday.
Should they beat Tottenham on Thursday, Arsenal would qualify for the Champions League at least two games away after their fifth-placed rival north London lost points in a 1-1 draw against Liverpool on Saturday.
Arsenal took a four-point lead over Tottenham thanks to Nketia’s two goals in the first ten minutes as Leeds fell into the relegation zone, according to the Associated Press.
The former Leeds lender took advantage of the bad touch from Ilan Meslier and took advantage of his house. Nketia’s second ball was a fine shot from 12 yards (meters), rounding off Gabriel Martinelli’s low cross.
