NIHR, UK Embassy discuss strengthening cooperation

Manama, Feb. 2 (BNA): Head of the National Institution for Human Rights Ali Al-Derazi received British Deputy Ambassador Stuart Summers.

Al-Derazi referred to the depth of the Bahraini-British relations and their continuous growth in all fields, especially technical support and joint legal training programmes.

The meeting discussed issues of common interest, ways to enhance cooperation and exchange of experiences with regard to the application of the Alternative Penal Code and the Correctional Justice Law for children and their protection from abuse, in addition to procedures related to health care in reform. and rehabilitation centres.

Summers expressed his appreciation for the Foundation’s efforts to promote and protect human rights in the Kingdom, and affirmed the embassy’s support for initiatives that would contribute to achieving common goals.
