Jeddah, May 30 (BNA) The National Institution for Human Rights represented by Dr. Mal Allah Al Hammadi, member of the Board of Commissioners and head of the committee in charge of visiting places of detention and facilities of the institution, participated. The 19th regular session of Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The meeting was held over two consecutive days at the General Secretariat of the Organization of the Islamic Conference in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The session emphasized the key role of national human rights institutions in member states in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, promoting human rights and promoting awareness of the importance of integrating human rights into policy-making. The monitoring and investigation of human rights violations through regional and international mechanisms were also highlighted.
The discussion session witnessed the participation of a number of experts from international human rights organizations and specialized institutions of the organization and representatives of member states that have the right to vote, in addition to countries that have “observer” status in the organization and its member states. National human rights institutions.
The discussions resulted in a number of recommendations made by the participants, which will be included in the final document.
