Neymar hopes to play for US club in future

Sao Paulo Feb 21 (BUS): Neymar hopes to play in the United States one day, more than he wants to return to his Brazilian homeland.

The 30-year-old striker recently extended his contract with Paris Saint-Germain until 2025, according to the Associated Press.

“I don’t know if I will play in Brazil again. I have a lot of will to play in the United States, which is what I really want. At least for one season,” Neymar told the ‘Fenômenos’ podcast in a video posted late on Sunday. “In Brazil… I don’t know. Sometimes I want to, sometimes I don’t.”

The striker joked that he wanted to play in the United States “because the tournament is fast, so there are four months of holidays. That’s how you can play (there) for many years.”

When asked if he plans to retire, Neymar said he joked with his friends about hanging up his shoes at the age of 32.

“I will play until I am mentally exhausted. If I am in good shape in my head and body… my body will take a few more years, but the head needs to be good. But there is no certain age.”

Neymar also considered that the Brazilian national team is “too far from the Brazilian fans.

“I don’t know why, when it started, why it happened, but I see it in our matches. People don’t talk about it, they don’t know when we play. It’s sad that we live in a generation where Brazil doesn’t matter. When I was a kid this was an event, we had to stop and meet the family.”
