Jeddah to host FIFA Club World Cup 2023

Riyadh, June 26 (BNA): The Saudi Football Association (SAFF) and the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) announced today that Jeddah will host the next edition of the Club World Cup 2023.


This came in the wake of an official visit by a delegation from the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) to Jeddah last week to inspect the ongoing preparations to host the tournament, which will be held from December 12 to 22, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).


The President of the Asian Football Confederation, Yasser Al-Mashaal, said that Jeddah is ready to host this year’s edition of the FIFA Club World Cup and to offer players and fans an unprecedented experience as the city has a history of organizing major sporting events, and possesses a wide range of events. Advanced facilities and strong infrastructure, adding that the Kingdom’s choice to host this tournament testifies to the Kingdom’s status and ability to host major international sporting events.


FIFA experts inspected the main infrastructure and candidate stadiums to host the tournament, including King Abdullah Sports City and Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium, as well as many training and accommodation facilities.
