Iga Swiatek beats Karolina Muchova in the French Open final for her 3rd trophy in Paris, 4th Slam

Iga Swiatek beats Karolina Mošová in the French Open final for her third Paris trophy, 4 Grand Slam<br />

Paris, June 10 (UNA): Iga Soyatek She stormed into the French Open final, then overcame a second-set crisis of confidence and a third-set deficit to defeat Karolina Mošová 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 on Saturday and claim her third title at Roland Garros. Fourth Grand Slam title.

No. 1 seed Swiatek raced to a 3-0 lead after just 10 minutes on Court Philippe Chatrier – taking 12 of his 15 initial points – and then took a 3-0 lead in the second set as well, before Muchova made things even more so. Interesting, the AP reports.

With Swiatek searching of sorts and seeking advice from her coach in between points, Muchova grabbed five of six matches on her way to conquering a single set. Muchova carried that momentum into the deciding set, taking a 2-0 lead.
That’s when Swiatek returned to her usual brand of clean, clean tennis, scurrying around the red clay with great defense and capitalizing on Muchova’s repeated mistakes. However, Swiatek again found herself trailing by a break twice in the third set before clinching the last three games.

The 22-year-old Polish has won the French Open twice in a row now, along with her 2020 title there and her victory at the US Open last September. This makes Swiatek the youngest woman to hold four Grand Slam titles since Serena Williams was 20 when she reached the milestone at the 2002 US Open.

Swiatek is also the third woman in the Pro Era to start 4-0 in the Grand Finals, joining Monica Seles and Naomi Osaka.

Muchova, ranked 43rd, competed in a tournament match at Slam for the first time.
