NSSA participates in Space, Global Health Network meeting

Manama, June 14 (BNA): The National Space Science Authority (NSSA) participated in the launch of the Global Health and Space Network meeting, at the invitation of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA).

The meeting is part of the 66th session of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, highlighting some of the most prominent international efforts to harness space technologies for peaceful purposes to promote sustainable development.

Commenting on her participation, space engineer Amina Al Balushi emphasized that UNOOSA meetings provide a unique opportunity for members to meet and learn about the latest developments in space science technology and its applications.

Aerospace engineer Ali Al Mahmoud highlighted NSSA’s efforts to lead Bahrain into the space sector and to participate in various international meetings and workshops.

Participants discussed the efforts of the UK and Switzerland to launch space, global health networks and the IMPLEMENTOME platform. This digital health platform allows users to navigate digital health data and locate different health institutions.

During the meeting, the UK Space Life and Biomedical Sciences Society highlighted its goals of improving communication and collaboration between individuals and institutions involved in research, healthcare, awareness campaigns and education in space and life sciences and human spaceflight.
