Madrid, June 22 (BNA) – The Spanish Football Association announced today, Thursday, that Barcelona will start defending the La Liga title away from home against Getafe on August 13, while Real Madrid will play with Athletic Bilbao in the same week.
As Barcelona’s Camp Nou renovation begins, the Catalan giants will host their first Clasico of the season against arch-rivals Real Madrid on Matchday 11 (October 29) at the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium. The two teams will meet again at the Santiago Bernabéu on Matchday 32, on the weekend of April 21, 2024.
The last weekend in La Liga could be the peak of tension this season, as Barcelona hosts European League champions Seville, Real Madrid hosts Real Betis, while Real Sociedad hosts Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid.
There will be no football on New Year’s Eve as the Christmas break will last from December 20th until January 2nd.
The Spanish Super Cup will be held in Saudi Arabia from January 10-14 with the participation of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Osasuna and Atletico Madrid. The King’s Cup will start on November 1st, and the final will be played on April 6th at La Cartuja Stadium in Seville.
The 2023-24 LaLiga season starts on Friday 11 August and ends on Sunday 26 May 2024.
