Manama, June 19 (BNA): The Arabian Gulf University hosted its graduation ceremony (2022-2023) under the auspices of the Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council, Dr. Muhammad bin Mubarak Juma.
The Minister of Health, Dr. Jalila bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan, attended the graduation of 296 students from the College of Postgraduate Studies, the College of Postgraduate Medical Studies, and the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences.
In a speech delivered at the ceremony, the minister praised His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, expressing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s pride in hosting the university.
He also praised the Gulf leaders’ support for the university, which symbolizes fraternal relations, stressing the importance of this achievement in supporting development efforts and health sectors in the GCC countries.
He also praised the late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his generous donation to build King Abdullah Medical City at the Arabian Gulf University, praising His Majesty’s donation of a piece of land for the project.
Dr. Jumaa praised the ministry’s cooperation with the university in launching a study that will be implemented by public schools as part of the “Evaluation of the Contribution of Urban Afforestation in Carbon Sequestration and Storage in the Kingdom of Bahrain” project.
He also referred to the agreement with the university to evaluate graduates of medical schools from Chinese universities and then propose solutions and training programs necessary to address the conditions of these graduates.
The Acting President of the Arabian Gulf University, Dr. Abdul Rahman Yusuf Ismail, also delivered a speech on this occasion, in which he congratulated the graduates and their families, wishing them a bright journey.
He praised the government’s support for the university, mainly citing the Ministry of Education, the Higher Education Council, the Supreme Council of Health, the Ministry of Health, government hospitals, the Royal Medical Services, primary health care centers and the National Health Regulatory Authority. The graduates expressed their gratitude to the President of the Arabian Gulf University, Dr. Khalid bin Abdul Rahman Al-Ohali, praising his role in the university’s achievements since he assumed the position in 2009. Then the minister distributed certificates to the graduates.
