Manama, July 3 (BNA): The Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait supports the planting of 200 trees and shrubs of Bauhinia, Ceres, Moringa and Sidr plants in Hamad Town Corridor 1209 in the Northern Governorate. BBK’s contribution came as part of the second phase of the national campaign for afforestation, Forever Green, which aims to expand green spaces, improve landscapes, and support national and international efforts to combat climate change and achieve zero neutrality.
Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary General of Nyad, confirmed that the cooperation between Nyad and BBK came to support the government’s efforts in the environmental and agricultural sectors, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the methodology. Under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, towards achieving a sustainable environmental model capable of facing the environmental and climate challenges that are increasingly looming on the horizon.
Sheikha Maram indicated that the announcement by His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2060 requires the cooperation of all parties.
Sheikha Maram expressed her appreciation to BBK for its support of three projects since the launch of Forever Green.
