Manama, July 15 (BNA): The Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture plans to hold more festivals to promote locally produced fruits.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry for Agricultural Affairs and Marine Resources, Dr. Khaled Ahmed Hassan, revealed the plans, praising the success of the first edition of the Almond Festival, which is being held at the site of the Bahraini Farmers Market in the Budaiya Botanical Garden.
The Ministry is holding this event in partnership with the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) and the Bahraini Agricultural Cooperative Society.
d said. Hassan said the ministry plans to add the Almond Festival to its list of annual events, building on the success of the popular Bahrain farmers’ market.
The festival, which entered its second and final week, attracted 18 farms, three projects, productive families, and eleven restaurants specializing in almond products.
The Assistant Undersecretary for Agriculture Affairs, Mohammed Al-Araibi, also praised the festival, which provided a platform for displaying Bahrainis’ fruit-based products.
He highlighted the ministry’s continuous efforts as part of a strategy to support Bahraini farmers and launch initiatives to promote their products.
