London, July 3 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, met today the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, at 10 Downing Street. .
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the official visit of His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to the United Kingdom.
His Royal Highness highlighted the deep-rooted relationship between the two kingdoms, which is based on solid foundations dating back more than 200 years.
His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s unwavering commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in support of the Kingdom’s comprehensive development goals under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad referred to the role of the United Kingdom, alongside the Kingdom’s allies, in maintaining international security and stability.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and common regional and international issues.
His Royal Highness and Rt Hon Sunak witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Bahrain and the United Kingdom on Investment Partnership and Strategic Cooperation.
The MoU was signed by the Minister of Finance and National Economy, His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and the British Minister for Investment, Lord Dominic Johnson of Lainston CBE, facilitating £1 billion investment from the Bahraini private sector in the British economy. Through the Kingdom’s sovereign wealth fund Mumtalakat, Investcorp, GFH Financial Group and Osool Asset Management.
