Arab League condemns burning copies of Holy Quran in Sweden

Cairo, June 30 (BNA): The League of Arab States, at the level of foreign ministers, condemned in the strongest terms the crime of burning the Holy Qur’an in Stockholm yesterday.

The League of Arab States said in a statement that this horrific act incites hatred and violence, angers and insults more than two billion Muslims around the world, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

The council stressed the need to address dangerous acts of hatred that provoke violence and insult religions, and urged the global community to deal with such behaviors as hate crimes and incitement that are subject to legal penalties.
