Bahrain participates in Parliamentary Conference on Interfaith Dialogue

Rabat, June 14 (BNA): Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, delivered a speech at the high-level session entitled Peace and Inclusion – Promoting regional and global peace through interfaith dialogue in the region. Parliamentary Conference on Interreligious Dialogue: Working Together for Our Common Future in Marrakesh.

Al-Musallam affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has made great efforts to spread the culture of peace. And consolidating the foundations of coexistence and tolerance by adopting and supporting all international initiatives that encourage dialogue between religions.

He said that promoting regional and global peace through interfaith dialogue is very important.

He also stressed that investing in the concept of (just and comprehensive) peace, with interfaith dialogue, is an effective and influential path towards coexistence, leads to a comprehensive human culture, and contributes to achieving stability and development for humanity in general.

The Speaker of Parliament highlighted a number of Bahrain’s initiatives aimed at achieving human solidarity in support of peace, including hosting conferences on Islamic-Christian dialogue in 2002, dialogue of civilizations and cultures in 2014, and Bahrain’s declaration as a global document for religious promotion. Freedom in 2017, the establishment of His Majesty’s King Hamad Chair for Peaceful Coexistence at La Sapienza University in Rome in 2018, the launch of the King Hamad Faith Leadership Fellowship Program in coordination with Oxford and Cambridge Universities, and the establishment of the King Hamad Internet Center. The Peace Program to Promote Tolerance and Coexistence among Youth in New York and the King Hamad Medal for Peaceful Coexistence.

Al-Musallam stressed that promoting regional and international peace through interfaith dialogue is everyone’s responsibility to consolidate the values ​​of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
