Nukuʻalofa, July 2 (BNA) The US Geological Survey said that a 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck the Niafu region of Tonga on Sunday.
According to Reuters, there was no danger of a tsunami on the West Coast of the United States, British Columbia and Alaska, the US Tsunami Warning System reported.
The US Geological Survey said the quake hit at a depth of 247 kilometres.
