PSG sign France international defender Hernandez from Bayern

Today, Sunday, Paris Saint-Germain announced that it had signed defender Lucas Hernandez from Bayern Munich for five years.

The transfer fee was not disclosed but French media reported that PSG paid Bayern 40 million euros ($43.87 million) plus an additional fee for the 27-year-old.

According to Spanish media reports, Hernandez’s childhood club, Atlético de Madrid, will charge a large fee.

The France international has made 107 appearances for the Bundesliga champions since his arrival in 2019 but only played seven league matches last season after tore his cruciate ligament at the World Cup, ruling him out for the remainder of the season.

Hernandez, PSG’s fifth new signing, joins midfielders Manuel Ugarte and Lee Kang-in, defender Milan Skriniar and striker Marco Asensio.

The club also fired coach Christophe Galtier on Wednesday and replaced him with former Barcelona and Spain coach Luis Enrique.
