London, July 5 (BNA): Bahrain granted the United Kingdom a certification to become an official partner for sea and air freight services.
This decision came during the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the United Kingdom.
Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, said that this partnership reflects the long-term relationship between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom.
Vakhru stressed the importance of strengthening relations, especially across the maritime and air transport sectors.
This new initiative is designed to deepen economic and trade relations that will attract investments and lead to prosperity for both countries.
The minister emphasized that granting the United Kingdom this certificate allows companies in the country to obtain an official accreditation certificate as an approved operator for sea and air freight services.
Companies located in these countries will be able to seek accreditation as an operator from the Government of Bahrain as a result of the project to grant partner status to more countries. This approach falls within Bahrain’s broader strategy to expand its international partnerships.
Bahrain launched the Global Center for Maritime and Air Cargo Services to enhance the efficiency of Khalifa bin Salman Port and Bahrain International Airport.
Unlike Khalifa Bin Salman Port and Bahrain International Airport, which only provide sea or air services, the hub provides sea and air cargo facilities at a much lower cost.
