Bayern signs Portugal left back Raphaël Guerreiro on a free transfer from rival Dortmund

Berlin, June 23 (BNA): Bayern Munich signed Portuguese left-back Rafael Guerrero on a free transfer Friday from rival Borussia Dortmund, the Associated Press reported.

Guerreiro joins on a three-year deal after his contract with Dortmund expires at the end of the month.

Possibly competing for the starting left-back spot with Alphonso Davies, but he can also play on the left of midfield, Dortmund have also been used as a central midfielder this season with some success.

Bayern edged out Dortmund to win the German title on goal difference in the closest title race in years. Guerrero is Bayern’s second signing in the off-season after RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Leimer, who is also on a free transfer.

Guerrero made 64 appearances for Portugal and played four of his country’s five matches at the World Cup last year.
