Manama, June 14 (BNA): The National Institute for Human Rights received a delegation from the National Institution for Human Rights in the United Arab Emirates, headed by Chairman of the Board of Directors, Maksoud Cruz.
The meeting came within the framework of developing cooperation and exchanging experiences.
Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, Chairman of the National Institution for Human Rights, affirmed the strength of Bahraini-Emirati cooperation in various sectors, with the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State.
The meeting discussed human rights issues and the latest human rights developments and events in the region.
The two sides stressed the importance of coordinating training programs to support human rights.
Al-Derazi gave a briefing on the objectives and programs of the National Institution for Human Rights to address human rights issues, and its role in submitting recommendations related to human rights to the legislative and executive authorities in Bahrain.
The visiting delegation was also briefed on the tasks of the committees at the National Institution for Human Rights, the inspection visits to the Institute and the reports it issues.
The head of the National Institution for Human Rights stressed the deep bilateral relations and the importance of cooperation in promoting human rights.
