Manama, July 4 (BNA): Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. The Bahrain Olympic Academy held a graduation ceremony for 223 graduates from its technical and administrative courses.
The ceremony was attended by His Highness Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Financial Regulatory Authority. His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister. Mohammed bin Mubarak Gomaa, Minister of Education. Abdul Rahman Askar, CEO of the Public Services Authority, and Dr. Faris Mustafa Al-Kooheji, Secretary General of BOC. Nabil Taha, Director of the Board of Directors of the Association and a number of guests.
His Highness Sheikh Khaled handed certificates to graduates from the following programs: Diploma in Sports Management. 1-4 levels of the National Program for Trainers; The second batch of the physical literacy program and other specialized courses.
His Highness Sheikh Khalid also honored the sponsors and shareholders. The Ministry of Education, Tamkeen and the privileged Gulf.
His Highness Sheikh Khalid praised the efforts of the Board of Directors in implementing specialized sports programs and courses that aim to develop and build the capabilities of coaches and administrators who participate in supporting the development of sports talents and the star industry.
His Highness said that the number of graduates indicates the status of the board of directors, which cooperates with local and international coaches and has partnerships with international institutes and universities, to create a group of distinguished coaches and administrators who have succeeded in occupying key sports positions locally and internationally.
His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan wished the graduates more success and urged them to continue educational and training programs to further develop their skills and contribute to the progress of the sports scene in Bahrain.
For his part, the Secretary General of the Bahrain Provincial Council said that he is happy with this number of BOA graduates from inside and outside Bahrain.
Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalid, the university will witness a great development in its programs and courses.
He said the news programs will focus on social media, digital marketing and media from a sports perspective.
He added that developing the performance of the Board of Directors will cover the administrative, financial and technical aspects, in addition to building a strong partnership with the International Olympic Academy.
Al-Kooheji thanked His Highness Sheikh Khaled for his support and directives to allocate a new administrative building for the academy in Isa Sports City.
For his part, Dr. Taha said that the academy was designed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who instructed the establishment of the Bahrain Sports Institute in 1981 when he was crown prince and head of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.
