Manama, June 14 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King, praised the Bahrain 1 team’s latest victories and maintaining the lead in the NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series.
Team drivers Justin Bond and Chris Thorne are currently 1st and 2nd.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah, owner of the Bahrain 1 team, attributed the team’s outstanding results to the generous care and unlimited support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the encouragement of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince. Prime Minister, support and sponsorship of the national companies Aluminum Bahrain (Alba), Batelco and National Bank of Bahrain.
His Excellency said that the team’s position in the current world championship competitions raises the name of the Kingdom of Bahrain in one of the most powerful races in the world.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah added that the team’s results showed its determination to regain the world championship title, through the efforts of the crew and driver and hard work.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah said that the professional performance of the team enabled it to win the world title twice in a row in 2019 and 2020, wishing the team success in clinching its third title this year.
The current competing members of Team Bahrain 1 are Justin Bond, Chris Thorne and Khalid Al Balooshi.
Bond finished first at round four of the NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series in New England.
Thorne came first in the fifth round, which was held in Bristol.
The team has so far won four out of five rounds.
