iGA announces launch of new features on bahrain.bh

Manama, June 12 (BNA): Information and eGovernment Authority Chief Executive Officer, Mohammed Al Qaed, announced new features added to the Bahrain.bh national portal that enhance the portal’s user experience.

This came in line with the directives of Major General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology.

New features include the dedicated (Personalization) page, which can be accessed by logging in with the electronic key. Through this feature, the user can easily choose his electronic services to be in his “favorite electronic services list”. Within this page, the user can also update their personal information, view notifications received from various government agencies through the “Government Notifications System” including reminders of government appointments, expiry of official documents due for renewal and other important notifications.

As part of the improvement, the user will also be able to view their online transaction history and completed receipts for the past six months and take advantage of various payment options including Apple Pay & BenefitPay. A new feature will also be added soon, which allows users to take advantage of unified payment for all transactions.

Al-Qaed also announced the provision of the enhanced “Government Services Catalog”, which consists of a comprehensive guide related to all government services information, including its procedures, requirements, etc., with the ability to classify it according to the service or service provider. The category that may facilitate the search process.

On the other hand, Al Qaed explained that payment transactions have been simplified in bahrain.bh by adding the Save Payment Method feature, which optionally and securely provides the preferred payment card for easier and faster completion of transactions, in addition to the fact that ApplePay and Benefit Pay have been added to the payment methods. Pay to keep up with the modern trends and lifestyles of the user.

The Information and eGovernment Authority (CE) also emphasized the improvements made to bahrain.bh’s technical infrastructure, particularly to its capacity, responsiveness and compatibility with all screens, mobile phones and smart devices.


“In light of the expansion of the scope of digital transformation for a wide range of electronic services, the Information and eGovernment Authority has always been keen to take the user experience as a priority in using electronic channels for government services and mainly the national portal to complete all their transactions quickly, smoothly and safely.”

The CEO also affirmed that the Information and eGovernment Authority is committed to achieving excellence in government services provided to citizens and residents. He said: “The Information & eGovernment Authority is always keen to adopt innovative initiatives, ideas and suggestions that the public receives through the national system for suggestions and complaints (Tawasul) and the Tawasul application in addition to social media. The Information and eGovernment Authority will also continue the next stages of the enhancement portal that will be announced during This year, to ensure that people’s aspirations and best practices of the United Nations are met in the field of e-government.
