Manama, Mar. 18 (BNA): The National Medical Task Force to Combat COVID-19 announced a set of updated regulations following a review of the current health situation in the Kingdom and the occupancy rates of novel coronavirus cases in hospitals and the intensive care unit. Care units.


Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health and Head of the National Medical Task Force Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa stated that from Sunday 19 March 2023, a positive rapid test will be considered the preferred diagnostic tool for confirming infection in local health centers, while PCR reports can be performed when indicated. according to the medical evaluation.


He added that the new regulations also state that mandatory self-isolation will not be in effect, while active cases are advised to isolate for five days and avoid contact with others.


Dr. Sheikh Mohammed stressed the need for all members of society to continue to follow the precautionary guidelines, including taking booster doses of the vaccine and testing them when any symptoms such as fever, coughing or difficulty breathing appear.
