National Council for Arts holds meeting

Manama, May 16 (BNA): The National Arts Council met under the chairmanship of its President, Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.

Sheikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa praised the art movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain thanks to the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for his sponsorship of the opening ceremony of the forty-ninth Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition. He praised the distinguished group of artworks made by Bahraini plastic artists that were displayed in the exhibition.

The head of the National Council for the Arts praised the government’s support, which contributed to developing artists’ skills and enhancing their creativity. He pointed out that the next edition of the exhibition will display works of art that reflect the richness of Bahraini artistic production and embody the civilized and cultural image of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The minutes of the previous meeting were approved after discussion. After that, the Council highlighted the future plan of the “Art for Peace” function. She gave a briefing from the committee in charge of the event, stressing the council’s role in coordinating between the organizers and the competent authorities.

The meeting also shed light on the results of the meetings between the committee assigned by the Council and the Media Department of the Ministry of Information regarding “intellectual property rights”.

The head of the National Council for the Arts affirmed the pride of Bahraini artists in their national identity and authentic heritage, describing it as a catalyst for creativity. He pointed out the importance of participating in Expo Japan 2025 by motivating artists to participate in artwork that highlights their creativity.
