Manama, May 2 (BNA): In implementation of the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat) headed by His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa decided to. The Minister of Finance and National Economy and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mumtalakat, Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, received the position of the new CEO of Mumtalakat, as of May 1, 2023.
Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the trust placed by the Kingdom’s leadership and Mumtalakat’s Board of Directors, adding: “I look forward to working closely with the executive management, the Mumtalakat team and portfolio companies to enhance our contribution to the Kingdom’s economy as part of Team Bahrain.”
Prior to joining Mumtalakat, Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa was the CEO of Osool Asset Management, the investment arm of the Social Insurance Corporation, which manages around US$12 billion across various asset classes globally.
Sheikh Abdullah also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bahrain Telecommunications Company (BEYON) as a representative of Mumtalakat since 2018. In addition, he sits on the boards of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and the Hope Fund.
Sheikh Abdullah previously served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of SICO Investment Bank, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK), and on the boards of both financial and non-financial institutions.
Sheikh Abdullah holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from George Washington University, USA, and has more than 22 years of experience in banking and financial services.
