MRICS Managing Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure | Job in Abu Dhabi, UAE by Faithful+Gould | GulfTalent

Due to our continued success in the UAE, we are now seeking to recruit Commercial Administration/Manager(s) Quantity Surveyor(s) with extensive prior consultancy experience on pre-contract infrastructure projects, to join our already established commercial and cost management team, committed to technical integrity innovation and development of its employees, within our growing business.

Basic tasks:

Practical training to lead a specialized commercial team responsible for:

Proven track record of providing pre-contract estimation services across the GCC
Thorough understanding of working closely with the employer in the formulation of capital expenditure budgets
Infrastructure experience especially in major projects is essential
Infrastructure cost planning throughout the project life cycle
Experience of benchmarking and comparative analysis is essential
Cost analysis and life cycle costing of infrastructure components
General understanding and appreciation of all component parts of key developments
Working within the customer organization
– Work independently
– Strong Presentation Skills
Manage a small dedicated team
– Proven track record of delivering major developments

pre-contract:

Manage team resources to ensure timely completion of business deliverables;
– Feasibility studies (cost per switch, cost per square meter etc.);
– Planning and cost estimation (BCIS and NRM1);
Advise on purchasing strategies.
– value engineering, cash flow forecasting, whole life costs, risk management;
– Production of bills of quantities (NRM 2, POMI and CESSM3);
Bidding services including compilation, bid analysis, negotiations and recommendations.
– Drafting contracts (VIDIC red, yellow, green, customized).

Subsequent contract:

Oversee operational and administrative issues within the team.
– Management of bonds, insurances, guarantees and guarantee records.
Temporary assessments and payment certificates (contractors/consultants).
Analyze differences, recommendations and management (contractors/consultants);
Risk, value and cost management functions;
Cost analysis.
– identifying, analyzing and developing responses to business risks;
Preparing progress/cost reports.
Reports to the Commercial Director on all commercial issues.
Attendance and representation in business meetings.
Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.

general:

– internal management of profit / loss and contractual aspects of the consulting contract with the employer;
– It must be MRICS
– Recruiting/interviewing candidates for employment;
Line management duties including identifying and developing talent pool.
– Engage in strategic business development workshops.
– Articles, networking sessions, and intellectual leadership.
Gain business support in bids and presentations to employers.

– At least 5 years Emirati experience
– At least 3 years of experience in the construction market in Abu Dhabi
Quantity Surveying Degree / Master’s Degree in Quantity Surveying
– MRICS qualified for at least 3 years
Experience working with a Main Contractor preferred but not necessary
A hands-on approach to this role is essential

Experience and qualifications:

Experience in infrastructure delivery, residential, retail and leisure experience is essential.
Construction delivery experience in the Middle East/UAE would be beneficial;
Minimum MRICS qualification
– Certificate in Quantity Surveying from a recognized university in the UK and accredited by RICS;
– At least 8 years post qualification experience
You must have at least 4 years of consulting experience;
Knowledge in the use of QS CostX or similar software required;
Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Able to work alone or manage a team for project deliverables as dictated by the project;
Possess a good project background and technical writing ability and skills in English.
