MoJ: Private Notaries process 71% of 92k transactions in 2022

Manama, April 19 (BNA): Private notaries have completed 66,000 transactions. The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments disclosed 71% of the total 92,000 transactions processed in 2022.

As for the remaining 26,000 transactions, they were processed by the Ministry’s Documentation Department through the main office and the branch in the Survey and Land Registration Bureau.

Judge Issa Sami Al-Mannai attributed the high efficiency in notary procedures to the private notary service that was launched in 2017.

He highlighted the role of licensed private notaries in accommodating the large volume of notary transactions for citizens, residents, companies and businesses. He added that the services of the private notary provide faster and more flexible options for completing the requirements of the notary public, even after the official working hours.

He said that the service came in line with the goals of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and the government’s action program, which aims to redefine the role of the public sector to become a supportive regulator for development and empower the private sector to be the main engine of growth. He added that the partnership between the public and private sectors provides value-added opportunities for citizens.

Judge Al-Mannai explained that the transactions that are carried out by private notaries are reviewed by the notary public via an electronic platform that links the ministry with them.
