Medic in Every Home, an innovative health concept

Manama, February 19 (BNA): An innovative scheme aimed at expanding the scope of health services and reaching out to civil society was launched.

The “A Paramedic in Every Home” initiative was among the three innovative ideas that were announced for the winners of the third edition of the Government Innovation Competition (Fikra), launched by the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Innovative concept presented by Kawthar Fouad Salman and Nadia Jassem Aboudris from the Ministry of Health. The innovative plan will be implemented in cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Health.

The team responsible for the concept held a seminar at the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Salman Institute of Technology to highlight the project targeting project coordinators appointed by the Ministry of Education as well as school nurses.

Dr. Wafaa Al-Sharbati, Director of Health Consolidation and Team Leader, said that the “A Paramedic in Every Home” initiative was among three innovative ideas that were announced as winners in the third edition of the Government Innovation Competition (Fikra).

The project aims to enhance Bahrain’s ranking in relation to the third and fourth sustainable development goals, increase the survival rate of the infected and reach the largest segment of citizens across the country.

The concept also aims to highlight the vital importance of first aid, teach students first aid and first aid curricula, form a link between project supervisors (Ministry of Health) and schools, and define a time frame for conducting first aid and workshops for each school, focusing on first aid and CPR .

Four schools (one for each governorate), will be allocated to start pilot implementation of the concept in the next semester before expanding the project nationwide.
