Job description and summary
A career in the Office of General Counsel, within Internal Corporate Services, will provide you with the opportunity to be part of the corporate legal department by providing customized legal support in the areas of litigation, counseling, corporate law, trade and labor. You will play an important role in all aspects of organizational procedures involving the Company and its employees by providing support on organizational matters, advising the Company on matters relating to its operations, supporting the client contracting function of the Company, and advising on personnel matters.

As part of our team, you will assist in researching basic information related to legal issues and preparing legal documents. You will focus on drafting legal contracts or agreements, maintaining files of prepared legal documents, and coordinating requests between internal and external consultants.

Financial
Adheres to the OGC budget to support clients Senior members of the OGC, Head of Risk Management Middle East (CRO) and General Counsel for the Middle East Region (GC) on litigation, corporate matters, commercial and regulatory matters in Egypt.
Provide advice and support regarding regulatory issues in Egypt, including providing interpretations of the law and regulations to participating teams to help them understand how the regulations apply to the company and to client engagements.
Providing support in commercial matters and transactions.
Provides support in critical litigation matters, by assisting with required internal investigations in connection with litigation matters, supporting the review of pleadings and files, and working with technical experts.
Dealing with a range of employment matters, including advising on employment laws and regulations in Egypt, drafting and reviewing employment contracts and letters, assisting human capital management and business units with employment inquiries, advising on special matters relating to staff recruitment, and generally providing Advice on any labor issues affecting Egyptian companies.
Providing advice and support in dealing with liquidators and bankruptcy cases involving clients or former clients.
Provide updates and work closely with global R&Q and global OGC teams as well as PwC UK OGC, on important downsides.
Advise engagement teams and LoS R&Q teams on all relevant areas of legal risk throughout the engagement lifecycle.
Liaise with other research and question functions such as independence, compliance, anti-money laundering, etc. for expert advice.
Build relationships with the relevant LoS R&Q leader, other R&Q leaders, LoS/IFS partners, and engagement teams.
Meeting with the dedicated LoS R&Q/IFS Leader to discuss key findings, areas of interest and/or gather feedback.
Consult and escalate to the LoS R&Q Lead / OGC ME General Counsel when necessary.

education
– To be of Egyptian nationality
Professional or academic qualification (degree level or equivalent), or extensive relevant and work experience
Qualified lawyer

language
– Bilingual Arabic – English (with strong English)

Comprehensive experience
– More than 8 years of relevant experience
Relevant legal experience in the professional services industry in a top-tier firm, relevant experience in a high-profile law firm, or relevant experience in a regulatory body is required.
Previous experience in managing people and teamwork
