Manama, August 2 /BNA/: First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Khalifa received in his office at Al-Wadi Palace today the Minister of Cabinet Affairs Hamad bin Faisal Al-Maliki.
His Highness congratulated him on the Royal Secretariat, wishing him success in performing his duties. He reviewed the vision of the General Sports Authority and its plans to develop sports in Bahrain, praising the government’s inclusion of the sports sector in the social services section, as part of its initiatives for the government’s action plan for the next stage. He pointed out that this step will enhance the sports sector, which enjoys the support and attention of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The meeting, which was attended by the Vice President of the General Sports Authority, Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, and the CEO of the General Sports Authority, Dr. Abdul Rahman Sadiq Askar, also shed light on ways to enhance cooperation and coordination with regard to sports issues.
For his part, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs praised the efforts led by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to develop sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which has resulted in many notable achievements in recent times. He stressed the keenness to support the sports sector to achieve more achievements in this field.
