Judicial and Legal Studies Institute launches 2nd Professional Legal Practice Certificate Programme

Manama, September 5 (BNA): The Judicial and Legal Studies Institute (JLSI) today announced the start of the second edition of the Professional Legal Practice Certificate (PLPC) program.

The PLPC begins on September 5, 2022 and will run until March 1, 2023. The twenty-five trainees have undergone a rigorous selection process with an overall acceptance rate of less than 50 percent.

They will undergo skills training in legal ethics, legal research, legal drafting, interpersonal skills, corporate law, financial law, contracts, anti-money laundering, real estate law, negotiation skills, and alternative dispute resolution.

JLSI President Dr. Khaled Serry Siam noted the unique nature of this special training programme. Offered entirely in English by senior lawyers, the PLPC aims to build capacity and develop the skills of new law graduates, enabling them to enter the legal industry on a solid footing, particularly in the areas of corporate law, commercial and financial law, indicating that this type of program is particularly aligned With the vision of its Board of Trustees that prioritizes the training of young lawyers.

Dr. Seri Siam stated that this program represents a unique collaborative model between the legal community and JLSI, with all participating law firms providing support as part of their corporate social responsibility programmes.
