Interior Minister attends ministry’s Olympic Shooting Championship finale

Manama, Feb. 9 (BNA): Interior Minister Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa today attended the conclusion of the Minister of Interior’s Olympic shooting championship. Director General of the Royal Family Council and President of the Bahrain Shooting Federation, Sheikh Salman bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Chief of Public Security, Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Sheikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Inspector General. The meeting was attended by Major General Abdullah Al Zayed and Vice President of the Bahrain Shooting Federation, Sheikh Hamad bin Rashid Al Khalifa.

The Minister of Interior inspected the audience and the shooting range. He was briefed on equipment, weapons and other marksmanship requirements. Afterwards, he attended part of the final match and praised the team’s good organization and sportsmanship. He stressed that archery is one of the authentic sports that the ministry is working to encourage, as it requires more focus and strength, and has become an essential part of many tournaments and competitions. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the President of the Bahrain Shooting Federation for his prominent role in the success of the championship.

The head of the Sports Federation for Public Security, Colonel Khaled Al-Khayyat, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Interior for his support for athletics in the Ministry of Interior and his role in the sporting achievements of the Ministry in the local and international games.

The Minister of Interior honored the winners and wished them all success.
