London Feb 12 (BNA): Pep Guardiola has been trying to get a response from the inexperienced Manchester City players. Perhaps the Premier League has done the job for him.
Guardiola’s players responded defiantly on the field by beating Aston Villa 3-1, reports the Associated Press.
Another win against Arsenal on Wednesday will move City to the top of the Premier League for the first time since August and close the eight-point gap that separated the two sides as recently as January 19.
It’s a turnaround that didn’t seem likely when City lost 1-0 to Tottenham last week in a game that saw Guardiola star player Kevin De Bruyne bench in his attempts to get his side’s defense on track.
But Arsenal have also been floundering, dropping five points over the past two weeks, including a 1-1 draw with Brentford on Saturday to give hope to rivals City and Manchester United.
